Getting Out of Porn

This website is of course about getting into the porn industry, however if you are looking to get out (and it can be very difficult to get out even just as a performer - check out my blog to see what I'm currently going through), here are a few suggestions and resources:

Janurary Seraph has put together a wonderful website called http://AdultPerformerAdvocate.org with resources for those in the adult entertainment industry, those who are simply curious and those leaving.

Julie Meadows has written a blog which lists several great resources and organizations which help women who are seeking help to leave the adult industry and rebuild their lives. She also wrote another blog here with her own suggestions.

The Pink Cross is a Christian based organization which assists people who need help leaving the porn industry.

Webcamming & running your own adult website (technically it's still "porn" yes, but you can do it solo and from home independently. Read my section of the site "Building a Solid Pre-Porn Foundation" for additional details.)

A regular mainstream job of which having an adult industry background isn't a factor (for example: bartending, waitressing, adult web design, writing for an adult industry magazine - the possibilities are endless).

Of course once you get out of porn, initially you will almost always take a "pay cut", but when you (and only you - make sure any decision you make is yours and yours alone) feel you need to close the "porn" chapter of your life, the money you are or are not making shouldn't be an issue.
