before your shoots. |
Don't
stay out partying the night before your porn shoots. No amount of makeup
can take the tired look out of your eyes. Also generally you need ENERGY
to put forth a good performance.
Showing up drunk and/or
high is not a good idea either.

on time for your shoots. |
Everyone
appreciates a person who's ON TIME. Women who are consistently late are
seen as flakey. Reliable on time performers are repeatedly booked and in
demand. |
| Be prepared when you arrive on set. |
Have
your "Porn
Shoot Toolbox" together! |
| Keep your appearance up throughout your porn career. |
Take
care of yourself. Exercise and eat right. Don't fall into the world of
drugs. Many women start out looking great but by the middle of their
porn career look like hell. Don't become one of those women. |
| Be willing to take direction. |
Remember
that as a porn performer you are an ACTRESS. The scene is rarely just
you being you, so be willing to take direction, however only
do what you are COMFORTABLE DOING. |
| Pay your agent their commissions in a timely manner. |
Just
like how you don't like waiting for your money, neither does your agent
if you have one. Pay them their commissions as soon as you receive your
paychecks. They will appreciate it.
Beware of agents or
agencies that attempt to collect their commissions from you BEFORE you
receive your paycheck.

| Answer your fan mail YOURSELF. |
That's
right! There would be no porn industry if it wasn't for the porn fans,
so show them some love, and answer your emails and Myspace messages
yourself.
If you hire someone to
build your website, make sure they set up your email to where it is
forwarded to you.

| Show up to the events you're scheduled to attend. |
Part
of being a pornstar in my opinion is getting out to meet your fans. If
you're scheduled to be at a convention or event - SHOW UP! |
| Have
a good attitude. |
No
one likes a DIVA and unfortunately in porn, many women develop an
attitude very quickly that their "shit doesn't stink". I don't
care how famous you are or think you are, treat others with
consideration and respect. Be confident, not bitchy (same goes for you
MALE PERFORMERS).
Sometimes in scenes you
will be paired with people that YOU
WOULD NEVER BE ATTRACTED TO IN YOUR PERSONAL LIFE.
Even if that's the case, still put forth your best effort - that's
why even though it's porn, it's still ACTING.
As I've stated in other
sections of this site, the porn industry is a surprisingly small world
and if word gets out that you have a bad attitude, people will think
twice about booking you no matter how hot and sexy you are. |
