Your Porn Shoot Toolbox
Being Prepared = Being Professional!

When I began in the porn industry, I was fortunate to have a background in the world of exotic dancing. Not only did exotic dancing aid me in being extremely comfortable with my body, but since I'd danced for years, I'd accumulated TONS of sexy clothing, which is something you often need an an assortment of when working with porn studios.

Of course, the larger and more established studios have a wardrobe department, along with hair and makeup people (how do you think those Contract Stars look so great consistently?). However, there are other studios that expect you, as the performer, to be capable of taking care of all of that yourself.

I have witnessed young women arrive on set before with almost NOTHING (because it was most likely their first scene and they didn't know better). Not only does that hold up production, but it also makes the performer appear very unprofessional.

Below is a list of clothing, accessories and other items you will need in your "Porn Shoot Travel Bag" (I'd actually suggest you get a medium sized suitcase to transport all of this stuff in).

bra & panty sets bikinis thigh highs and stockings assortment of high heals accessories
shirts and blouses (sexy & simple) skirts (sexy & simple) dresses (sexy & simple) shorts pants (jeans & slacks)
makeup hairstyling tools lotion baby oil Advil or Tylenol
sex toy (dildo/vibrator) baby wipes douche sea sponge (in case you are menstruating) towel

If you need examples as to they type of "sexy wardrobe" to bring, check out sexy clothing websites like www.WickedTemptations.com

Also depending upon the type of perfomer category you fall into, you will find that you are consistently asked to have certain types of clothing. For example, women who are (or look) very young are often asked to have "school girl" type clothing. Women in the "MILF" to "Cougar" category often need clothing that a "house wife" or "teacher" might wear. Women who do a lot of  "Fetish" scenes may need to have more vinyl and leather lingerie.

Sometimes studios will be specific about the type of wardrobe you need to bring which is REALLY HELPFUL. Other times they will tell you in advance special items to bring depending on how the scene you will be in is "scripted" (ex: tennis shoes, if the script begins with you working out at the gym) or they will already have those items, but sometimes they don't.

Try to find out as much about the scene you are cast in from your agent as possible. Some agents for whatever reason, are neglectful in finding out details about porn shoots from the director and in relaying these details to you. I advise that find an agent who is DETAIL ORIENTED, so that you don't show up to a porn shoot unprepared.

Tip: Bring something you enjoy reading or MP3 player to listen to. Often times you will be waiting around on a porn set doing NOTHING while the set crew is either shooting another scene or taking a break. Lots of unexpected things can happen on porn sets that can cause delays.
